Outlook Find Function not working

I have posted 3 times this question. I have seen several other posts related
to this question. Nobody is answering this question. What gives?

Outlook 2003, Exchange 2003, neither advanced nor Basic find functions
return any results. The search icon spins, but no reults returned even on
items you know are there.

Does anyone have a solution for this?

Does it work for single folders at all?

No. Not at all. I put in something that I can see is there in the preview and
it returns nothing.
