Outlook FInd feature

Hello- I just upgraed to Outllok 2003. it is pretty cool
aqnd better than the previosu one, but when I use the FIND
function for mail, it is very slow. It also seems to look
from the oldest to the newest, which is the wrong way. IS
there any way to speed this up OR get it to start from the
newest first? Thanks
 
No, not really... use search folders instead.

I think the question warrants a slightly more verbose answer. Why has
Microsfot in all their wisdom decided that productivity is increased
by starting e-mail searchjobs in the oldest e-mail??

I don't know what you mean exactly by 'search folders instead' and I
really just want to use to standard searchbar..

It has nothing to do with lack of wisdom or productivity. It's how it's
always worked - whether it was overlooked, is a bug, or is 'by design'
(because they couldn't do it newest first without causing bigger problems)
is unknown. They are well aware that it's irritating and stupid...

You said you use Outlook 2003. Outlook 2003 has a new feature called search
folders. Search Folders are like a permanent find and index the messages as
they arrive, not at the time you start Find. Look for it at the end of your
mail folders. right click on the Search Folder and choose new search folder
to create a customized one.

You may want to test Lookout (http://www.lookoutsoft.com/Lookout/) - it has
great search capabilities.
