Outlook Express

Default problem
I cannot make outlook express my default email handler. When I want to email
a photo it always looks for Outlook


Could someone please help a damsel in distress.

Sorry Jerry, I tried this but I get the message that windows cannot find it

Hi, Joanne,

Go to Start, Run, and type the following including the quotes:

"Program Files\Outlook Express\msimn.exe" REG 8

and hit Enter.

Reboot

This should setup Outlook Express as your mail handler.

Hi Joanne,

Have you tryed uninstalling OE and then reinstalling it.

First of all take backup of your OE, here is the tool that wil help you with that:
http://insideoe.tomsterdam.com/backup/index.htm

Then you open Control Panel | Add remove programs | Add Remove Windows Components and remove OE.

Set Outlook Express as default mail client - Start/Run and type in:
MSIMN.EXE /REG

Restore OE to the E-mail List in Internet Options (Row 9)

Restore Hotmail, Outlook and OE under Programs (Line 250)
http://www.kellys-korner-xp.com/xp_tweaks.htm

Reset OE for Send To , Mail To , Send Mail (Line 64)

Restore Outlook Express as Default News Client
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Clients\News
