outlook express

I'm having a problem with outlook. When it's finished
reciving messages online it tells me that i have so much
mail but it's not really that. For example I would see 15
messages and it would tell me that I have 100 new
messages. it's been going on for awhile but now it's
annoying. can anyone help me here.please respond if you
have went through this same thing or you know how to
resolve this. Thank You in advance.

Is it possible that you have rules set that are sending some of your mail to
the deleted files or to another folder by mistake? I have rules set for my
mail, and it might say I've got 10 new emails when I log on, but only 2 will
show up in my inbox. Then I'll see that 5 went to the deleted box (because
I automatically delete anything from anybody trying to sell me anything) and
the others might go to some other folder.
