my deleted file freezes and it comes up (not responding). microsoft told me
to run a virus program but it didn't help. if anybody can help i will be
gratefull.

Hi bones,

The Deleted Items.dbx file is probably corrupt.
If you wish to try extracting the contents of the file, using a third-party
utility such as DBXtract (price is $5.00
http://www.oehelp.com/dbxtract/default.aspx ), with OE closed, move the
Deleted Items.dbx file to another location, or copy it to another location
and then delete the file from its current location. If you don't wish to try
extracting the contents of the file, with OE closed, simply delete the file
from its current location. OE will create a new Deleted Items.dbx file when
it is next opened.

In order to locate the Deleted Items.dbx file, you will have to set your
Folder Options View to Show Hidden Files and Folders. Navigate to:
C:\Documents and Settings\<username>\Local Settings\Application
Data\Identities\{<alphanumeric GUID>}\Microsoft\Outlook Express

Regards,
