Outlook express

Here is my problem I have had it ever since changing to a router from a
usb ADSL modem, when I open outlook express 6 I can not get an outgoing
connection with it, it will not check email etc, it can not get an
outside port, but if I open either Internet explorer or Fire fox I can
then get a connection to the Internet with outlook express, if I close
either IE or FF I will still have my connection to the Internet with OE,
but if left for a while I will loose it again.

Any Ideas?

Have you tried asking the experts in the Outlook Express newsgroups, or a
support forum for your router?

You have checked under the Tools -> Accounts -> mail tab and made
sure all those options are valid for your account ??

You also need to make sure the default connection is correct for
Internet explorer ( Tools -> internet options ) since OE seems to
refer to that for how to connect to the internet.

Never dial a connection should be used in Connections.
The default connection is not used.
