Outlook Express v slow to bring up folders

Our outlook express has become extremely slow in opening
uo the folders bar. This seems to have happened since
agreeing to MSN "monitoring our computer usage - I suspect
this means that there is a hidden program running in the
background when ever we use internet applications and
therefore squandering our available memory.
Thoughts & fixes gratefully recieved.
