Outlook Express Receiving same emails multiple times

Debbie

I recently began having problems when Sending/Receiving
emails in Outlook Express. My husband is not having the
same issue with his email. I receive the same messages
over and over. I keep deleting them, closing down and
then restarting Outlook Express, but the same messages
keep coming in. How can I stop this? I've run Norton
Anti-Virus, Ad Aware and Spy Bot, but have come up
empty. I receive the following error message every time
I try to Send/Receive:
Your server has unexpectedly terminated the connection.
Possible causes for this include server problems, network
problems, or a long period of inactivity.
Account: 'mail.comcast.net', Server: 'mail.comcast.net',
Protocol: POP3, Server Response: '+OK', Port: 110, Secure
(SSL): No, Error Number: 0x800CCC0F

Any advice would be GREATLY appreciated!

This newsgroup is for support of Outlook 97, 98, 2000 & 2002 from the Office
family for Windows PCs. For Outlook Express (OE) support try posting in one
of
these newsgroups:
microsoft.public.inetexplorer.ie4.outlookexpress for OE 4.x
microsoft.public.windows.inetexplorer.ie5.outlookexpress for OE 5.x
http://support.microsoft.com/newsgr...blic.windows.inetexplorer.ie55.outlookexpress
for OE 5.5x
http://support.microsoft.com/newsgr...ublic.windows.inetexplorer.ie6_outlookexpress
for OE 6.x
http://support.microsoft.com/newsgr...;newsgroupsmicrosoft.public.internet.mail.mac
for the Macintosh version of OE
http://support.microsoft.com/newsgr...ess.mac&SLCID=US&sd=GN&id=fh;en-us;newsgroups

If those groups aren't carried on the news server that's carrying this group
try using msnews.microsoft.com (MS's public news server that's the source
for all the microsoft.public newsgroups). The links under the newsgroup
references are for use with MS's web newsreader (not exactly the best way to
post but it works for some people)

Also a good source of Outlook Express info can be found here:

Post all replies to the group to keep the discussion intact. Due to
the (insert latest virus name here) virus, all mail sent to my personal
account will be deleted without reading.

Hi… Can send E-Mails but now cant receive them?

Had a look at mailwasher.net, down loaded the 30-day trail pro 4.1. Can see all my mail in here all 167, deleted the Spam, taught it friend from foe, bounced the one that wont let you unsubscribe too; this has left me with 57 to retrieve, but that about as far as it goes, I cant get them to communicate. When you process mail, it open’s up Outlook Express, but that’s return’s an error. I am still able to send e-mails, they get sent first it’s the incoming e-mail that gets blocked?

This morning I have been onto my network supplier (Yet again) ntl using their Board Band Medic, no joy. They got me to disabled my fire wall completely, Closed down my AVG6 personal; after turning off E-Mail virus checker that was stopping their test’s dead, still not receiving e-mail. Ntl on line help gave up asking me to contact an expensive technical help line number? The last time I did phone for something else it cost me £9.10 which completely buggered my PC up, which then had to go in for repair.

I had taken out K9 altogether prior to getting in touch with ntl, just eliminating things as I go along. Still do my Tune_Up in safe mode, Windows ME, every two days, this morning no problem there well nothing it said it couldn’t fix after ntl episode?

This is the last error message from outlook express.

Your server has unexpectedly terminated the connection. Possible causes for this include server problems, network problems, or a long period of inactivity. Account: '/Terrence.Burton', Server: POP.ntlworld.com', Protocol: POP3, Server Response: '+OK 17356 octets', Port: 110, Secure(SSL): No, Error Number: 0x800CCC0F

As you can see, stripped bare? After ntl help line-man. I have put back my firewall and still left disabled e-mail virus scan in AVG.

That about as far as I’ve gone / got.
