Tools-Options-Connetion and uncheck "Hang up when finished sending and
receiving"
2) How do I stop attachments from being taken off when e-mails come in?

they are not "being taken off", OE is denying access to a potentially
harmful attachment.

For the 255,000th time - Tools-Options-Security.

Presumably you looked all through OE Options before posting? (There aren't
THAT many........)

I hardly think he would be out of a job, since everyone here,
including MVPs, are volunteers. No one gets paid by MS.

Maybe your antivirus deleted the mails with viruses for you.
You can change the settings of your AV to prevent it, but not recommended.
