Every time I open the window to write a new message -- is always already on
the page no matter what I try. I tried un-installing Outlook Express & then
installing it again but it still happens.
Help!

-- is always already on the page

Hope this helps.

is the text already on the page when I start to write a new message in
Outlook Express. It doesn't matter what stationery I use; it is just always
on the message page. Don't know how to explain it any further....
Thanks

I don't understand your question either, but could it be related to
your signature?

What signature???????????

That's a sig (signature) separator. It is actually "hyphen, hyphen,
space" on a line by itself.

When someone replies to an email of yours, anything typed above the "--
" line will be 'quoted'. Anything below the "-- " will not be quoted.

Some people use this to tag a witticism, or personal information to the
end of their email, and the "-- " line ensures that the info will not be
quoted in a reply.

I don't know how to turn this off in Outlook Express. I'm pretty sure
that OE allows you to compose a standard 'sig' file if you wish.

Whether or not a "-- " line works depends on the *receiving* email
program recognising that line as special. Most do.

Cliff

What signature???????????

You might take a look at these steps.

Open Outlook, select tools, select options, select the tab that says
"Signatures". Is the word "is" in the signature box? If so, you can
just delete it.

Removing the signature in Outlook Express took care of my problem. Thank you!
