Outlook Express, Plain Text not working in newsgroups ?

Hi,

I think I have set outlook express to read messages in plain text.

Messages on newsgroups still display animations and pictures ??!!

Is there a way to force newsgroups messages into plain text as well ?!

Are the pictures and animations attachments or embedded into an HTML post?

Thanks for posting!

My name is Jeff and I understand your issue to be:
Even it is set to read message in plain text, pictures are still displayed
in OE for newsgroups.

If I have misunderstood your issue please let me know.

Based on my test, I confirmed that even if we enable the check to "Read all
message in plain text". A post contains pictures as attachment is still
displayed after a separate line.

It may show like below:

<Plain text paragraph>
<Plain text paragraph>
<Plain text paragraph>
<Plain text paragraph>
<END>
--------------------------------------------
<Pictures that is attached>


This behavior is by design.

I find a workaround here:

Close the preview pane by View > Layout... > Uncheck "Show preview pane".
In the right pane, move the size column to the top of the columns.
Now, if you find the message size is bigger than 10kb, it is probably
contain an attachment, you may choose to save it as a plain text and open
it with notepad.
