Outlook Express - News items not downloading

J

Joseph Ferraro

I have recently started having a problem with Outlook Express News items.
Within the last several months when news items (new headers) are downloaded,
the display says there are between 1 and 1000 new headers, yet the message
in the status bar will say (example) 10 are unread, 101 not downloaded.

When I run the "catch up" the problem does not go away. Several days later
it may clear, but then other newsgroups will show the same problem.

I have talked to my ISP and they assure me that the problem is not the
newservers, they insist it is an Outlook Express setting (no setting have
changed that I am aware of). Is anyone else having this problem, and can
someone offer some advice and/or assistance in resolving this issue.

I have noticed that if I post a message to the newsgroup that is displaying
the message, the count does reset and catches up. I have reset all the
newsgroups and the problem still persists.

Thanks in advance

Click the Get Next Headers toolbar button.

OE | Tools | Options | Read tab | Under News,
UNCheck the Get xxx headers at a time box | Apply | OK

newsgroup or to download all messages in the newsgroup.]]

Have a look at this...
