Hi, having trouble with OE (and Thunderbird), any links (URLs) people send me
will not open unless I copy and paste them to my browser, any ideas as is
becoming very annoying.

Hi

Try this:

With OE closed, run the following command from Start>Run:

regsvr32 urlmon.dll

Then try the links again.

Eternally grateful, worked a treat!

Thanks

Hi
I'm having the EXACT same prob, except that I cant even copy and paste the
link because it wont allow me copy the link.. So I tried the solution sent to
you, and it didnt work for me.. If I hit on anything else Ill let you know.

Hi

Try typing each of the following from Start>Run

regsvr32 actxprxy.dll
regsvr32 shdocvw.dll

I tried those and no go again. If I go to my IP's site and check it there,
the links work fine.

Making web links function as they should in Outlook Express
http://www.legge40.freeserve.co.uk/Tips2.htm#LOCKUP
If the web links in Outlook Express are not working as they should -
you can't click them, or they don't save as Favorites, or perhaps
every time you open a link in a new window through your mail client,
Internet Explorer only opens a back a blank page - there is a simple
solution that doesn't require a reinstallation. Click on Start =>
Run and enter - "REGSVR32 URLMON.DLL", without the quote marks. A
dialog should inform you that the procedure was completed. Next,
start Internet Explorer, and click Tools => Internet Options =>
Programs, then click the Reset Web Settings button. Now, you can run a
test to find out if the web links in e-mails work as they should.

Another possible , try this .
IE > Tools > Internet Options > Advanced > Browsing >
Reuse window for launching shortcuts.
Disable & see if that helps.

Hyperlinks don't work

http://www.fjsmjs.com/OE/nolinks.htm
First, try setting IE5 as your default browser. Go to IE
tools/internet options/programs and
turn on the check box for IE to check if it is the default browser.
Shut down and restart IE.
When it asks to be default browser, say yes.

Hi

If none of the following work, you'll perhaps have to try the Outlook
Express News
Group:

regsvr32 mshtml.dll
regsvr32 oleaut32.dll
regsvr32 shell32.dll

Well, thx for the help on your part (even though I just piggybacked this
thread), but Ive still no luck.2 days ago, I was updating alot of drivers and
stuff, and since then Ive been having lil glitches.(My mouse has its own
will, the pointers wants to go to the bottom right ([start]), so it may have
been something I did screwing around (but thats how ive learned alot)Might
just back up Addy book and Uninstall and Reinstall Outlook. Thx

The problem is solved..I started a post ( # above this one on the page)
titled "Outlook Express" The first solution on the post from Bruce Hagan
fixed me up (at least THAT problem is)..

Hi

A System Restore may help - depending on why the links have been lost.

If nothing happens when you click a link:
Open Windows Explorer.
Go to Tools | Folder Options | File Types.
Scroll down to URL:HyperText Transfer Protocol and select it.
Click Edit or Advanced, depending on your Windows version.
Select 'open'.
Click Edit.

"Application used to perform this action" should read:

"C:\PROGRAM FILES\INTERNET EXPLORER\iexplore.exe" -nohome
(Check the path to iexplore.exe to make sure that is correct and use the
double quotes.)

DDE should be checked and in the boxes below it you should have:

#1:
"%1",,-1,0,,,,
#2
IExplore
#3 (blank)

#4
WWW_OpenURL

URL:HyperText Transfer Protocol with Privacy should be the same.

Sometimes it is necessary to uncheck Use DDE.
