The inbox on O.E. has stated being difficult. Sometimes the files are in alphabetical order - sometimes by date of receipt. This latter is what I want.

Some advice from out there folks?

I think I know what's happening. If the cursor barely touches the title bar
and you click on the topmost message to highlight it, the inverted triangle
Tom mentioned changes columns. I'm always doing this in the newsgroups. I
also wish there was a way to lock this setting. for both of us and anyone
else, is there one ?
