Hi,
After I reset Internet Explorer 7, I no longer have the envelope icon for OE
that was next to the house icon for my home page.

Does anyone know how I can get this envelope icon back on IE 7?

Thanks.

Right click on an open spot next to the home page icon.
Slide your mouse pointer down to Customize Command bar on the menu that pops
out.
Click on Add or Remove Commands on the next menu.
This should launch the Customize Toolbar dialog.
Click on Read Mail in the left box and hit the Add button.
Read Mail should now appear in the right hand box. Click on the Move Up
button if you want to relocate the email icon to the left on the toolbar.
Hit the Close button.

Note: Keep in mind that you may have to resize the Command Bar if you add a
new icon. Right click on the Command Bar and click on Lock the Taskbar to
remove the check mark. You should now be able to click on the vertical
separator bar and move it to the left. Once you've resized the bar go back
and click on Lock the Taskbar.

If this doesn't help you might want to post your question to the IE7
newsgroup.

Hi PA Bear,

IE 7 kept noting that it had to close many times. I ran AntiSpyware programs
and deleted what they found. While I was at it, I decided to reset IE 7 per
MS article 936213. That's when I lost the OE icon from IE 7.

How did you do this "reset" and why did you do it?

The Mail button is not in the toolbar in Internet Explorer 7:

Thanks.

Unrelated to the Mail icon, I'd recommend running a /thorough/ check for
hijackware, including posting your hijackthis log to an appropriate forum.

When all else fails, HijackThis v2.0.2
(http://aumha.org/downloads/hijackthis.exe) is the preferred tool to use (in
conjunction with some other utilities). HijackThis will NOT fix anything on
its own, but it will help you to both identify and remove any
hijackware/spyware with assistance from an expert. **Post your log to

by an expert in such matters, not here.**

If the procedures look too complex - and there is no shame in admitting this
isn't your cup of tea - take the machine to a local, reputable and
independent (i.e., not BigBoxStoreUSA or Geek Squad) computer repair shop.

Hi PA Bear,

Thanks for the HighJackThis info. I believe I tried this software once before.

Right now, everything seems to be operating OK on my computer.

I saved your HighJack This info in case i need it again in the future.
