Outlook Express Error Message

Michael

I need help. I use outlook express to receive and send
email messages. I continue to get error messages that
say "Problem logging into your mail server-Password was
rejected-Account'mail.comcast.net(1)
Server:mail.comcast.net Protocol: POP3 Server Response '
ERR directory status' Bad Password Port:11 Secure (SSC)
Server Error 0x800CCC90 Error Number 0x800CCC92
I have tried to change and reset my password through
Comcast to no avail. Comcast say's it's a Microsoft
issue? Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks.

I have this problem too. I've tried all sorts of fixes to no avail. Microsoft's site seems to indicate that I should install Exchange 2000 Server and Exchage 2000 English Service Pack 3, but I haven't done that yet, b/c (1) the Windows update section says I've got all the updates that apply to my system, so I assume I've already installed this update, and (2) the release notes MS issued after this service pack was released suggest that the pack presents many installation problems. The release notes' recommendations on how to avoid those problems are so complicated that I'd rather not take this route if there's an easier solution. That's how I found your post. I am anxiously awaiting an MVP response to your post. Isn't there a quick & easy solution to this problem that so many of us seem to have had???

Then ask in an Outlook Express newsgroup.

You might tell them WHERE the OE newsgroup is - it's not obvious AT ALL on
the web access site.

Since OE is part iof Internet Explorer, it's under that heading.
