outlook express compressing where stored?

Hello
I get a message 'to save space why not compress' I say OK
It takes a few seconds & all seems well.
But where are they stored? How do I find them
Any comments please

The files are not really compressed as a "zipped" file. This takes the
standard OE files and makes them smaller by removing the blanks in between
the messages. This is dones since the OE files are based on small
"database" files.
