Hello,
I am having a small problem that I would like to describe and
hopefully receive some help with.
XP-Home/SP2
Disk Cleanup/Compress Old Files
The problem I have is that I have a set amount of files on the
"Compress Old Files" line within Disk Cleanup that will not compress.
Disk Cleanup does not freeze, as I have seen a fix for in several
places. It finishes and works fine, except for always leaving some
files that will not compress.
It is 29 MB's of files that will not compress, they are always there,
that amount, I mean. Anything over that will compress fine. Say that
it says there are 39 MB's that can be compressed, 10 MB's will be
compressed and it will be back down to the "always there" 29 MB's that
will not compress.
I have tried running Disk Cleanup in safe mode and I have also tried
the workaround where you delete the Volume Cache Key in the Registry,
neither worked.
Does anyone have a suggestion that I could try?
Thanks,
Altie
