Outlook Express - Cannot Send/Receive

Hello All

I have been using an old computer with ISP as a DSL and AOL dial-up as backup. I also have an email account via another provider that I have used via Outlook Express for years.

Now with new computer with XP Professional and Office 2003, even with exact settings screen by screen (in Outlook express) from old to new, I cannot send or receive my emails. I have even disabled temporarily all viral, firewall, etc which were not as robust on on my old system but still does not work. Any suggestions

I think it would help if you were more specific.

Which ISP are you using now? Can you send and receive email on this ISP?
What is the other ISP?
How do you connect to the Internet every day? Which ISP? Which one is
your backup?

Please give the actual name of the isp. Also, can you send and receive
email with Outlook 2003?

Hi

I have my DSL as Covad; this is primary. I have AOL as my dial-up back up. I cannot send/receive email for an email account seperate from Covad or AOL regardless of what ISP I use now. I am able to do so easily on my old computer with same settings in outlook express. I have never used outlook so at this moment, I cannot answer that question

Any thoughts? Dolore

This error can be caused by having the Email Scanning option turned on
in Norton Antivirus 2002 or 2003. (The Microsoft Knowledge Base article
number for this problem is KB813518.)

Why not try posting this in the appropriate group for your program. This
one supports OUtlook from Microsoft Office Programs. Outlook Express is a
part of Internet Explorer so one of the groups for that program woudl be
more appropriate.

Post all replies to the group to keep the discussion intact. Due to
the (insert latest virus name here) virus, all mail sent to my personal
account will be deleted without reading.

After searching google.groups.com and finding no answer, Dolores asked:
