Outlook Express attachments

I set up a friends new XP computer. When receiving E/M
with attachments in Outlook Express, the program will not
allow her to open some attachments. She has Norton E/M
virus scan and the attachments are from a trusted source.
Any help? Thnks

look in OE under tools>options>security and check to see if "do not allow
downloading of attachments" is checked...

attachments would look like they are greyed out
