Try posting your question in an Outlook or Outlook
Express newsgroup - it has nothing to do with WinXP,
setup or deployment.

Unless AOL has changed their policies, you can't read that mail in outlook
or OE without a third-party program in the middle. You'd have to check with
AOL on how to configure it, if they have changed their policies. If you
really want to read it on Outlook and AOL is still making it difficult, look
for enetbot. It may no longer be available, but it's worth a look.

enetbot is still available but it costs $20.

It is now possible to setup an aol client using imap, without any 3r
party software in between (I have done it before with the emai
client Eudora and intend to do again with Pegasus). You may nee
specific instructions for your email client, but if not then th
basic instructions are to set the incoming mail server t
imap.aol.com, the outgoing mail server (when you write messages) t
smtp.aol.com (not necessary if you only want to read your messages
not send from this account). If you need more specific instruction
than this, do a google search for the keywords: aol, (your emai
client name), imap, authentication, configure.

I hope this is helpful to you

The instructions I got are I believe from the aol help website.

Good luck
