Outlook Express and Outlook incompatibility?

I have XP Home and am a long time user of Outlook Express (now v 6). I
recently installed Outlook 98 to use for its Calendar features. I do not
want to use Outlook as my default or other email reader. So when I installed
Outlook 98, I selected the bottom choice (will use something else for my
email).

However since I installed Outlook 98, I cannot seem to make OE6 my default
emailer! Outlook seems to have hijacked it. If I go in OE6 into
Tools/Options/General and click on "Make default Mail Handler", when I exit
and return to it, OE is still not the default Mail Handler!!!! I even
rebooted with no change. I cannot find in Outlook 98 where to unselect it
being my email handler.

Is there a way to use Outlook 98 for its calendar features and still have OE
6 as my default for email?

Question 2: There does not seem to be anywhere for me to make Outlook 98
change where it stores its "Outlook.pst" file. I want to change the default
location.

Open MSIE, and select Tools, select Internet Options, select Programs.
Use the scroll down and select Outlook Express for E-Mail and
Newsgroups.

That may work. If not, you might have to get into the registry to
reset it. I know that Outlook (any version) will definitely take
over as the E-Mail client.

Thank you. That helped and worked too.

Appreciate it.
