Outlook Express and MSAS

My PC is running XP Home SP2, with a DSL connection. Using the latest
version of MSAS, fully updated.

I've been using, off-and-on, MSAS since it was first released a year
ago. The only real problem I've encountered is that when the program is
running, it seems to generate "unknown error" messages when I try
downloading new newsgroup postings with Outlook Express. I've done plenty
of searching on the Internet, but no one seems to have this problem but me.
Once MSAS is removed, those "unknown error" messages are far less frequent.
Although they don't go away entirely.

You ain't the only one. I have it too. I just got done working it with my
ISP's tech rep (BellSouth Fast Access). We did not come up with a permanent
solution. I use Win 2000, fully updated.

Things did improve a bit when I:
(a) swapped my DSL modem to another USB port.
(b) had my Internet connection set to Always Connected (instead of Manual)
by BellSouth.

Since I don't have to have MSAS (Spyware Guard and others do pretty the same
thing), I'll remove it and see what happens.

I'll post back in a few days.
