I'm using Outlook Express 6 and sending HTML outgoing
messages. When I insert a photo into the body of the
message, the recipient doesn't see it.... only a red X. I
have tried this with many different people and the same
results. In the past, they did receive the photo. I
can "attach" a photo and they will receive it ... but not
inserted into the body.

As far as I know, I haven't made any changes to my
computer that would stop a photo from being sent. I even
removed the anti-virus software to see if that would
help. (it didn't) I really don't like sending
attachments ... so any help would be appreciated.

Probably their email client is set to not show pictures.

You have to send it as an attachment, if you just paste it, it is still getting the picture from the file, as soon as the email is sent it no longer has a source for the picture so you get a red

Tools menu/Options/Send tab/Mail Sending Format heading, click HTML Settings
button, click to select the option: Send pictures with message, click APPLY
and OK buttons...
