Help. My Dell laptop is running W2k and O2k. I used
outlook last week, all ok. Fired up on sunday evening and
as the app opens I get 'OUTLOOK.exe has generated errors
and will be closed by Windows. You will need to restart
the program. An error log is being created.'. I can't
find the error log being created. I am connecting to a MS
Exchange server.

I deleted the profile and then uninstalled o2k, rebooted
and stripped out all office/outlook sections from registry.

Rebooted. Reinstalled O2k. Created a neww profile with
no personal folders, just the pst on the exchange server.
deleted scanpst.exe and replaced with a clen copy.
updated my virus definitions. Can't get rid of it. Is
sit worth deleting my server pst file and creating a new
one? any help would be great. AM now fed up searching
the web for this, all with the same answer. Have seen the
earliar threads here and tried those remidies with no
sucess.

Hi

Looks like I am in a similar boat. I now get "The Operation Failed"
message trying to run Outlook despite a full uninstall and reinstall
of O2K. And yes, this does seem to have happened after an MS update.
Strangely I found a link to continue a Windows Update on my desktop,
and could EXACTLY remember what update it had pertained to, so just
ran it to get it out of the road. Seems that Outlook died as a result.
This wasn't some kind of trojan was it?

I was about to run a full virus check and the first thing it picked up
is changes to my Master Bot Record, but I don't iknow if reinstalling
Office would do that...

Any thoughts. Outlook remains dead.

Cheers
Glenn
