Outlook/Exchange Forward Rules

Hi all... I am having a problem with outlook 03 (exchange 03), where
our forwarding rules stop working overnight.... weird I know.

There are around 15 users who forward all of their external email to
their assistant (on the same domain).... 3 of these users come in in
the morning, and their rules arent working. To fix it, we just untick,
and tick the rule and it all keeps working for the day....

So I presume that when they log off, the rule stops working.

has anyone seen anything like this before?

Thanks,
Nathan

If you make the rules server-side and not client-side, do they work when Outlook is not open?

Hello Milly,

Thanks for the quick reply. I have read about server/client side
rules, but whenever I create a rule there is no option for this. I
presume all rules are server side, as the rest of the accounts work
OK.. it is only 3 or 4 that stop working overnight.

Is there a way to check if outlook is running the rules server or
client side?

Thanks,
Nathan

Hi Milly,

Thanks for the fast reply, Im pretty sure the rules are server side,
but I dont know how to check. When I create rules, they dont ask me if
I want them client or server side. But I have seen an option box that
asks me if I want to overwrite the server side rules ( i think).....

We have around 15 users who do the same thing, and all of their rules
are working 24 hrs a day. It is just these few users that have all of
a sudden stopped working.

is there a way I can confirm they are set to server side rules?

Thanks,
Nathan
