Outlook Distribution Lists Problems

Michael

I have been experiencing a problem with imported
Distribution Lists in Outlook XP. I've recently
purchased a new computer. My previous computer had
Windows 2000 Pro and Office 2000 Premium. The new
computer has Windows XP Pro and Office XP Pro. After
making all the necessary updates, data was transferred
from the old computer to the new computer. Distribution
Lists that were imported from Outlook 2000, show up in
Outlook XP, as do the individual contacts in the lists,
but when I try to open up the contacts I get an error
message [Could not find contact name (E-mail). It may
have been deleted or moved from its original location.
Would you like to remove it from this list?], and I'm
unable to open the contact. To test Outlook XP, I created
a new Distribution List and selected members. I then
saved the list, closed it, reopened it, and finally
successfully opened a contact from the list. Can someone
explain why I am having a problem with my imported lists
from Outlook 2000; and is there a way to rectify the
problem?

Any help would be most appreciated

DL's rarely, if ever, survive an import.
What do you mean by the "data was transferred?"
You should have reused your old PST.

After I set up the properties in Outlook, I imported the
old pst file from Outlook 2000.
