Outlook Distribution List Deleting email addresses

Good day,
One of our users is having trouble with distribution lists. After
sending a message out to a distribution list (which has worked properly many
times in the past) she got undeliverable responses to a few of the
recipients. When we went into the distribution group to look at the e-mail
address in the properties, it was listed as unknown for a few of the
contacts. The corresponding contacts have the correct information.

This has happened with two separate distribution lists in the past week.

: Windows XP - Workstation Service Pack 1
: Office 2000
: Exchange Server
: Personal Distribution List

I know that Distribution lists can be easily corrupted, is that what
happened here? and it was just a coincidence that it happened to the same
person twice in one week?
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in Advance

Very common occurrence. DL's are very fragile. I've seen no explanation as
to why, I just know I stopped using them.

Thank you for your response Russ,
Is there an alternative you can suggest?

Most of us use categories or Contact subfolders to group Contacts.
Categories can be used the same as you would a DL:
