Outlook Crashes

Often when I try to open an e-mail Outlook 2007 crashes. I prompts me to
restart and then it may work for a few e-mails and then crases again. When I
report the error the site tells me that it "may" be a problem with Acrobat.
I have removed Acrobat, same problem. I reinstalled Acrobat, same problem.

You should make sure that Adobe Acrobat Pro 6/7's (not the reader)
Outlook & Office plugins are not installed. That should generally solve
the problem. You can uninstall these components via Control Panel,
Add/Remove Software and then click modify for Adobe Acrobat
Professional.

Hi Mike,

You are welcome. This issue has been a major annoyance since the first
beta in November. I think I can recite these steps now in my sleep...
I wished Adobe would finally do something about it.

I am having the same problem and followed your instructions but can't find
how to uninstall the plug-in. What do you do after you get to modify?
Thanks in advance for your help.

Hi Bob,

Control Panel, Add or Remove programs. Click Change next to Adobe
Acrobat Pro. If there is a screen where you can click Next, click Next.
Choose Modify. Expand the "Create PDF" section. Expand "Acrobat PDF
Maker". Click on the buttons next to Microsoft Office and Microsoft
Outlook and make both not available. Click next as many times as needed
and click finish at the end.
I have Acrobat Pro 6, so these steps might be a tiny bit different for
Acrobat Pro 7.

Hi Patrick

Thanks for the extra instruction. I am using 6.0 but did a trial on 7.0 and
then uninstalled it but was getting messages that the problem related to 7.0.

I have followed your instructions and all seems to be working properly now.
I truly appreciate your help to get this fixed because I want to try Business
Contact manager and was getting pretty frustrated.

Thanks so much.

Patrick,

To clarify, is it correct that Adobe PDF Maker and Outlook 2007 do not work
together? That is, I will not be able to convert a mail message to a pdf
file?

Thanks,

Howard
