outlook crash for certain emails

I have a remote offices that uses Small Business Edition 2003 with outlook
2003. One user gets emails at times that will cause outlook to do an illegal
operation and has to close.
The email is in HTML format and outlook will crash every time the email is
opened. I have tried to open the same email on another exchange server and
do not receive the same problem. I am using exchange enterprise and outlook
2003 part of office pro 2003.
Also I found that outlook in the remote office will not crash if started in
safe mode.

The event error is as follows:
Event Type: Error
Event Source: Microsoft Office 11
Event Category: None
Event ID: 1000
Date: 7/19/2006
Time: 9:08:26 AM
User: N/A
Computer: ADMIN01
Description:
Faulting application outlook.exe, version 11.0.8010.0, stamp 43d16d53,
faulting module ntdll.dll, version 5.1.2600.2180, stamp 411096b4, debug? 0,
fault address 0x00010f29.

Any Idea of how I resolve this? How do I go about troubleshooting when it
works in safe mode?

Thanks.

Check for Add Ins and make sure they're compatible with Outlook 2003 because
some aren't. This error can be related to Plaxo as well. Also try reapplying
the latest Office 2003 SP.
Another thing to look at is your antivirus. If you use Norton there is an
Office plug in that can be a problem, but also you don't need to scan
incoming and outgoing mail (and no this won't compromise your security).
There could of course be more reasons, but start with those and see if
anything makes a difference.

Hi,

I have a very similar problem.
When replying to emails from ONE person - he is in France and his language
is set to French. Outlook crashes normally when pressing the send button,
however it also crashes when composing the reply.
This only happens on my desktop PC.
Both my desktop and laptop are running Outllook 2003 SP2 (they are both
puDell and purchased in 2006)

I run McAfee Security Centre
Have Skype, Vodafone Text Centre Tool Bars on both.
I have Plaxo on my desktop which I have just disabled in light of notes in
the chain.

I will follow the links and see what happens.
Will report on success.

Any ideas appreciated.
