outlook 2003:somehow I have amassed over 30,000 empty contacts. how can i
search for empty contact and then delete.

Can you use a list view of the Contacts folder sorted by last name then
highlight and delete the 'empty' ones?

What's so hard about it? Click the first one, scroll down to the last one,
then Shift+Click. That will select everything between the first and last.
Press Delete. Empty Deleted Items. All done.
