OutLook Contact and Address Book

I just upgraded to Office 07 and set up outlook but it will not allow me to
add my old (2003) outlook contact and address book. I keep getting a message
that a contact folder already exist and another can not be added, the same
for the address book. I have moved the old file to the same location as the
ones set up by default in oulook and can't seem to gt throught. Any ideals?

State more clearly how you migrated your Outlook data to the new
installation. Just pasting the file to he default location will corrupt your
profile. You must open the file in Outlook.
State what actions you take that generate that error. Adding a new Contacts
Folder to your data file will not generate that message.

I upgraded my system to a RAID structure and installed a fresh copy of Vista
Ultimate (64) and Office 2007. I had backed up all my data of a back up USB
drive. After the installation was complete and I had set up Outlook I copied
the old data to a known location on the new drives. I was able to retreive
the email file but when I wen to install the PAB it would not let me. I
simply stated that there was already an address book and I could not install
another. I moved the old file to the dir where the new files are located and
even tried to delete the new files but nothing worked.

Lots of mistakes here, and a lot still unclear. OK, so you copied the PST.
How did you connect Outlook to it? If you thought that just pasting it to
the default location will connect it, it won't. It will corrupt the Outlook
profile.
Also, it is not possible to install a PAB in Outlook 2007. PAB's are no
longer supported and haven't been used for years. There isn't even an option
to add an one one anymore.
We need more accurate information to troubleshoot.
At this point you've probably corrupted the profile beyond repair. Create a
new profile from scratch. Connect it to a clean backup of your former PST
file using Outlook's File > Open > Outlook data file command. Either copy
what you want from it to the new file, or set it as the new default for
Outlook. Make sure the Outlook Address Book Service is added to your profile
and enable your Contacts Folder as an email address book.
These instructions have all been posted here innumerable times and are
widely available in Help and the KB:
