Outlook Connector does not support this recurrence pattern

When I attempt to make a task recurring, I get the message "Outlook Connector
does not support this recurrence pattern" and cannot therefore make the task
recurring! How can I correct this?

I don't think you can. As far as I know, Hotmail doesn't support
recurrences.

If I were to disable or remove the Outlook Connector, would I again be able
to create recurring tasks in Outlook? Other than having to look for
reminders in my Outlook home page, what other advantages would I lose?

You should be able to create recurring tasks in your default Task folder
with our without the connector, provided the default folders are distinct
from the Hotmail folders. With Hotmail Premium, I believe you can make the
Hotmail folders the delivery location, but not for any other type of Hotmail
account. So, if you're not using Hotmail Premium, then you should have two
folder sets: one for Hotmail and one that's the delivery location. It is in
the delivery location folders that recurrences are available.

I use MSN Premium with forwards from my ISPs going there, and do not
intentionally use Hotmail at all. Do I even need Outlook Connector? I have
tried to remove Outloot Connector, but in the process disable Outlook, and
have to re-install Outlook Connector to get Outlook to open!

You don't state yoru Outlook version, so the following is for OL 2002/2003:
in Outlook, click Tools>E-mail Accounts>Next. Examine the "Deliver new
e-mail to the following location" drop-down at the lower left. That's the
data store where you'll find your default folders. For OL 2007, the
delivery location can be found with Tools>Accounts, I believe (but I'm not
by my OL 2007 machine, so can't check).

Only if you want to read your mail n Outlook. If you always use the web
interface or the MSN Mail application, you certainly don't need to use the
connector (or Outlook, for that matter).

Did you try repairing the installation after removing the connector? Click
Help>Detect and Repair or Help>Office Diagnostics (I think) from any Office
application.
