Outlook closes unexpectedly

Outlook 2003 (Office 2003 Professional)opens with no problem, but when I try
to view an email I get a message saying Outlook must close- and it does! I
cannot tie it to any event or new installation, but it has been happening
increasingly frequently for a month and is now occuring EVERY time. HELP!
 
Start-> Run; eventvwr.exe
Look in the Application log for events reported by Outlook at the time of
the crash.
 
Thanks for your help, here. There are no entries from Outlook. However,
Service Control Manager reports event 7023 at about the same time.
Incidentally, Outlook is suddenly working, but I am loathe to close it and
find myself back in the same position.
 
And what is the exact error message in full?
If Outlook still fails, the troubleshooting methods in the link I gave you
still apply.
