Outlook cannot perform your search

The CynicalDoctor

Hi,
On using advanced search and search from the context menu I get the following
error when the advanced search box opens.
"Outlook cannot perform your search. Outlook cannot display this view. The
folders specified are not available."
The feature worked fine earlier.
Running Outlook 2003/XP SP2
Thanks,
Sumeet

Hi Sumeet,

Most likely you are receiving this error message becuase a previously-defined Advanced Find has been saved and is now corrupted.

To resolve this problem:
1. Quit and log off of Outlook.
2. Click Start , click Run , and in the Open box type:
3. outlook /cleanfinders

When you run Outlook with the /cleanfinders switch, it removes all saved searches from the mailbox.

Same thing has happened to me. The fix listed above didn't work, still
gives the same error. Any other ideas?
