My user deleted emails from his inbox on the previous day. At the end of the
day he deleted the deleted emails. The next day around lunch these emails
all of a suddend appeared in his inbox as unread. This is the first time
this has happened and he deleted them again before I had a chance to test out
from another computer and see if they were there. He shut down outlook and
restarted and they were still there. He didn't go in thru OWA to see if they
were there so I don't have much to go on. He is concerned that his email has
been compromised. He is a higher up exec and wants answers. Is there any
way to track this or see if the account has been tampered with? Any help
would be appreciated.

Version of Outlook? Type of account? Using a PST or not?

If you're using Exchange there is a message tracking feature you can turn on
for a short time. You can also check to see if the issue is profile or
machine-based by having him log on and check his email from another computer.
However, I would be tempted to ask in the Exchange newsgroup to see if anyone
there has experienced this before.
