Hi All,
How are you?

Outlook AutoComplete is not saved after I close Outlook, shutdown the
computer and reboot. I know this is unusual. I checked the settings in email
preferences advanced options. Suggest names while completing To:, CC:, BCC:
is checked.

Whats wrong?

Thanks.

One of two things.
1. Your autocompletion cache (NK2 file) has been set to read only.
2. You have a corrupt profile. Create a new one.

And after you create a new mail profile (and before you start Outlook), you
can rename the NK2 file to match the name of your new mail profile and it
should give yuo access to those names in the cache.

What is a NK2 file? Where is it located? How do I create a new profile? Is
that the same as an account in Outlook? Am I just changing the name of the
original NK2 file?

It's the file where your autocompletion data is stored.
Where is it located?

In the usually-hidden folder %AppData%\Microsoft\Outlook. See this:

Not even close.
Am I just changing the name of the original NK2 file?

Yes.

Thank you, Brian for all your help. Is there a way to retrieve the original
addresses that were lost when I turned off the computer the first time or
have they been erased?
