I had to do some research to find out that the simple solution to the .oft file problem is easily corrected by deselecting the Use Word for email box. That was a snap after I did that. I now have a good .oft file.
However, when I tested it through another account, Outlook received the message okay, and said it responded to it. Hmmm. But the reply never arrived at my other email account. Why? What did I do wrong?
I am using an IMAP account as the auto-responder account, and the email account to which the response should have been addressed was a POP3 account (yahoo). I am not including Yahoo on my Outlook accounts at all, so it should have been treated as a completely outside source...?? Right?
I make these tiny, baby steps and maybe by the time I'm 90, I'll have it all figured out!
