Outlook Attachments Missing

Hi,

We have Groupwise 6.5 as Mail system(in a couple of months moving to
exchange), some of our users use outlook 2003 as clients using IMAP. Now the
problem is HTML messages that have attachments disappear from outlook here is
the scenario.

1. Groupwise client send a message, format is html and has a word document
as attachment
2. new mail arrives in Imap folder of Outlook 2003, its says its new and has
attachment(the attachment Gif is seen next to the message).
3. When u double click to open the mail or use reading pane the mail opens
but attachment is not there. Even the clip gif next to the message subject
also disappears.

Has anyone had this problem. And what is the solution.

Yes we had a problem similar to this. Sounds like an attachment encoding
problem. Unfortunately cannot remember the exact fix. (make sure the file is
not a .exe file - try sending as a zip file)

However, just had a look through the online help and found this under
Troubleshoot attachments:

"The recipient of my message didn't receive or can't open my attachment.
You might have sent the message in MIME format to a recipient whose e-mail
application doesn't support MIME format. Use the UUENCODE format to send the
attachment again."
