outlook and sp2 firewall

outlook 2003 can not send or receive email when sp2 firewall is turned on.
Even if outlook.exe is added to the firewall exceptions. is there any
souliton for this?
 
No version of Outlook needs to be added to the firewall exception list to be
able send/receive email. When you try to send/receive e-mail in Outlook,
does it give any type of error messages?
 
oh.. what a mistake.. i have discovered that sending and receiving is
working. But when i try to test my mailbox configuration, it says that server
is available but could not connect.
