Outlook and Sending "As Attachment" from Office

Hello, everyone...

Not sure why, but when we try to send a document from any Office product,
i.e., Word, Excel, using the "File, Send To, Mail Recipient, As Attachment"
we get an error from Outlook, i.e., "The Operation Failed" Then another box
pops up and says "couldn't send mail because of MAPI failure: "Unspecified
Error." Anyone have a solution? THanks in advance

is outlook and the office app the same version? i.e., you need word 2003 and
outlook 2003 to send as attachment.
