outlook and hotmail

maybe i'm being a little dim.. but i've managed to setup my outlook to use my
POP3 server for my emails, but my other half uses hotmail and so i've tried
to set it up to also retrieve his emails, and it keeps bringing up an error
message along the lines of:

" Task 'Hotmail: Folder:Inbox Synchronizing headers.' reported error
(0x800CCCF6) : 'An unknown error has occurred. Please save any existing work
and restart the program.' "

so what is this all about? it allows "Hotmail - Sending" to work.. but not
"Folder: Inbox Synchronising Headers" and i feel really stupid for not
understanding it more.

any help?

You can't use Hotmail with Outlook any more unless you pay a fee for Hotmail
Plus. Have him use IE for his mail.

When you have tried setting this up, did you go into Outlook/Tools and Email
Accounts? You can then add a new account under the HTTP option . When you
type in the hotmail address it will complete where it finds from the server
and you will need to make sure that the hotmail is included in the "send and
receive" group.
