Newly installed Exchange 2003 server with Ouotlook 2002
clients. Some users are getting NDR's when outlook auto
fills their name in the To: field.

If they pick the name from the global address list, it
works fine.

What's up with that? is it legacy information being
populated from outlook?

Any help would be appreciated.

Yes, very likely. If it's just one here, one there, have the users use the
arrow keys to highlight the incorrect entry and press DEL.

Strange thing is that they don't get a popup with a few
choices like I would expect. I know about deleting the
incorrect address, but it just enters the email address
in the TO: field.

Also, I noticed that uses with Outlook address book and
or access to other users inbox, etc. have multiple
entries of the same name.

It's confusing to users which one is the correct one to
choose. How can you delete the incorrect entries
under "other users folders" so only the correct ones show.

See whether this helps:

If you're seeing "ghost" contacts folders in your address book, go to the
properties of your Outlook Address Book (tools, e-mail accounts, view/change
directories...) and delete everything & say OK/close. Then right-click the
user's contacts folder, properties, outlook address book tab, and tick the
box.

They can't use those as an address book anyway, but see if
