Outlook address book question

A

Adam Bertram

We currently had a major email migration done. Before, we were using
Outlook via POP from the ISP and we brought our email in house to an
Exchange server. Because of the switchover, profiles changed on all of
the
Windows XP boxes that we had and everything was OK except for one person
and
their address book.

Whenever the profile was copied over, she had a lot of her contacts still
in
Outlook, but whenever she would go and click on the address book icon, it
would bring up those contacts and many more. I could not figure out what
the difference was and did some research and found that she had two
Outlook
address books in her settings. I did not know what the other Outlook
address book was, so I removed it and because of this, the extra entries
that she had previously seen when she clicked on the address book icon,
were
GONE!

My question is, how do I recover the entries that I had seen previously?
Were those entries in some .pab somewhere or a .wab? I looked and
looked
and could not find the entries anywhere.

Thanks for all your help!

Adam

It was another Contacts folder marked to be displayed as an Outlook Address
Book.

Is there a way to recover this?

Thank you for the response. However, there is no Contacts folder with the
correct contacts that I have lost. There is a contacts folder with a lot
of contacts in there under Outlook Today, but the contacts that I had
previously are not there.

If you removed an Outlook Address Book it was a Contacts folder. I cannot
help you determine which one you actually removed.

Thanks for the help. Before the migration, she was using Outlook and
POPping from her ISP. They did not have Exchange. Do you know where these
Outlook Address Books are stored when not using Exchange?

The Outlook Address Book isn't "stored" anywhere. It's merely a view of
your Contacts folder.
