Outlook Address Book Email only?

D

David Griffith

When ever I create a new email and then go to address book, I currently have
2, one is PAB and the other outlook contacts. Now when I create an email and
go to address book it looks in PAB, which is fine. If I need to contact
someone from within contacts, I change the address book to contacts, however
what I see is all contacts that have an email and a fax number, and I do not
know if I have selected the email address until after I have added it to the
To, CC or Bcc box. Is it possible to set outlook up so that when I am
creating an new email and go to address book it only shows me contacts with
email address?

Also is my set up the best way of handling my addresses, i.e. I use PAB for
personal email and outlook contacts for work?

TIA

No way to answer. You didn't post your Outlook version.
There has been no reason to use the PAB for over 6 years. It was replaced by
the Outlook Address Book. If you want separate listings, create separate
Contacts Folders.

Today I somehow stumbled on this question that you
posted. Surprise! Did you ever get an answer.

I am using Outlook 2002, do you know how I move the address from PAB to
Outlook address book?

Thanks I have imported as per the link. But I still have the other problem
in that when I create new mail and go to address book I have multiple
entries for an individual, there could be 3, all I see is say 'FRED' but
what they actually are is Fred Home, Fred Work and Fred Business Fax.

Is there a way of only showing email address, and can I edit what I actually
see when I go to address book to make it easier to identify which email to
use i.e. Home or work?

TIA

If it is Outlook 2002, then no. You must use the horizontal scroll bar to
distinguish one address from another.

You are right it is 2002, its a bit of a pain having to scroll over, its not
like you can edit the name for each entry, i.e. Fred fax and Fred email.

Well if there is now way round it.

Thanks.
