Hi,

I've got a simple rule setup, applies to all messages.. The rule is:

Move to specified folder except if sender is in specified address book.
The problem is that the specified address book is a Personal Address
Book and the rule will not work. If I change specified address book to
Contacts, then it works fine. Is this by design or is this a flaw with
this specific version? Thanks.

In theory it should work but only when Outlook is running. Any reason why
you are still at that (heavily) outdated patch level?

It's the version that I got with the computer and I have Auto Updates
disabled. Ok, so I got SP3 now but it still doesn't work when I use the PAB
as the specified address book. Still works fine when I use Contacts. I found
a KB article somewhere about how sometimes the rules don't work when a
send/receive is done right at application startup so thought this might be a
problem, but it still doesn't work even when I manually run the rule. So in
theory, I guess it doesn't work with personal address books :)

Oh and just to mention.. if I create a new folder that contains contact
items, specify that as an address book then use it as the list to filter off,
it works ok as well. I suppose I could just use contacts but my wife is not
overly savvy with computers in general and some of her friends and family
constantly send from two different addresses (work and personal) and if I put
multiple addresses under the contacts she sometimes sends to the wrong ones.
It's somewhat annoying and she is pretty set in her ways :) Thanks anyways.
Cheers.
