Outlook 2007 with Vista 64

I am running Office 2007 on my new Vista 64 laptop. I notice that Outlook
2007 is running process (shows as Outlook.exe*32 even before I open Outlook.
This reslts in 2 items hat I noticed. The first is that alarms that are set
to "ring" pop up even if I have not run Outlook and this is not really a
problem. The second item is more of an issue. If I try to uninstall a
program and it needs Outlook uninstalled there is a problem. Even if I go
into the processes under ctrl/alt/del and stop the process it automatically
starts and then I still have a problem uninstalling.

I would appreciate any feedback on how to solve this problem.

Okay the issue is resolved.

The process was running because I have a gadget running which shows Outlook
items. If I remove the gadget the process does not run if Outlook is closed.
