outlook 2007 uses 35-50% of cpu & is unusable

I just upgraded my 2k3 office pro to 2k7 on my vista biz laptop. Outlook
uses exchange.

When I start outlook, it goes to 35-50% of cpu and takes a minute or more to
recognize a mouse click. I have disabled spambayes, and I left the program
running for a couple of hours hoping it would finish whatever it was trying
to do.

We use mcafee total protection, which worked very well with ol 2k3.

What to do? Other folks in the office with win XP but otherwise the same
configuration are using OL 2k7 without problems.

Is it possible to trash this thing and go back to a version that works
right?

Am I to assume to you assume Outlook is the issue here and that you don't
want to do any troubleshooting on this?

I would love for it to work, but am not looking forward to hours of
troubleshooting. I'll look at your link & see where that leads.

Ok, post back the results. Most often upgrades go wrong because of
incompatible addins or corrupted settings which hadn't surfaced yet until
the upgrade. We should be able to help you with both and get Outlook to a
running state.
