Outlook 2007/Size limit of PST file?

Mike Stem

I am working with a friend to try and clean-up some Outlook issues he has
been experiencing. He runs Vista 32-bit SP1 and Microsoft Office 2007 SP2.
My investigation revealed that his PST file is approx 2.4GB in size. I know
in the past there were issues with a PST going above a GAB limit. Can you
advise if this is still an issue with Vista/Outlook 2007. TIA!

Additional details: local PST on his machine, mail downloaded from his ISP,
no Exchange server...

I believe the limit is 20 gigs.

It is not an issue, provided that the PST was created by either Outlook 2003
or 2007 in the Unicode format. If the PST is currently 2.4GB and working,
then it's likely to be the correct format. Unicode PSTs start with a 20GB
maximum size, but that value can be increased in the registry.
