Outlook 2007 (running very slow?)

After installing and running outlook 2007, the program is running my mail
and calendar very slowly.
Is this normal or did I so something wrong.
Does anyone know of a fix for this?

I'm not sure if this will work for you, but email was agonizingly slow for
me after upgrading. It was suggested that I recreate my email profile and
now it runs fast.

Tools>Email Accounts Select New and follow the prompts. Make this new
profile your default and test it before deleting the old one.

After I did this it started running fast again.

When I set it up, I did create a new profile.
I then imported my email and contacts from an 2002 pst file.

It was dreadfully slow. Even with a pst under 300mb.

I just now created another new profile. But... this time I let it go where
Outlook wants it: in the AppData folder.
I had previously put it under /user/username/documents/Outlook/ since I
like to have all my data under one place, and not spread across places
unknown. Makes backup much easier. (though, it looks like Vista has altered
it so everything is seen under the /username/ folder?)

So far, it's running faster.

Could the issue be that the default Outlook profile MUST be in the /AppData
folder?
